All Things Are Possible With God September 18/2005 Bill Moseley With men, many things may seem to be impossible, but not with God. In the book of Luke, we have an interesting story of a rich young ruler that came to Christ with the question, “what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Christ acknowledged the requirements of the law to which the man stated that he had kept them from his youth up. But knowing that he lacked something, Christ told him to go and sell all that he had, give to the poor, and come follow him for he would then have treasures in heaven. When the ruler went away sorrowfully, Jesus replied that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. They that heard what was said asked Christ, “Who then can be saved?” The answer Christ gave provided comfort to them by the assurance of Jesus that, though the salvation of some men might present more difficulties than the salvation of others, as it were, might require a miracle, others only required a simple means. The gracious, almighty God can be trusted to overcome the obstacles. It is impossible for any man to save himself. So in every case of salvation, God is called upon to assist man in accomplishing the impossible. God can so work upon the rich man's heart as well as the poor. Thus God has provided the rich as well as the poor an entrance into the kingdom of God through belief in the Lord Jesus. No other way is required. Luke 18:27) “And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
