Homecoming Oct.-16-05 Bro. Lee Dotson When I stepped into the Leckieville church for the first time I felt something special , something that I hadn’t felt before .I felt at home. It wasn’t in the material things ,it wasn’t in the way the church looked. It was something that I felt once I got inside. It was love, that each member showed me, not just a few but every one that I came in contact with at the church . The Lord had lead me to a new home that was full of Christians that loved God and were willing to show it by their fellowship, patients, beautiful smiles and there wiliness to work , not just on special occasions but all the time. The most important thing I found was men willing to stand for the truth. "That Jesus came and died on an old rugged cross for the sins of the whole world and rose that third morning for our justification ." The bible teaches us that God is love and without love were not none of His. A church without love has nothing to stand on. A love not only for the church ,but for our neighbor also . Homecoming is a special day .It’s when all the church comes together and remembers all the saints that have went on before us. Without doubt it will be sad to see the old Leckieville Church tore down, a lot of good memories took place in that sanctuary ,but there is one thing that can’t be torn down and that is the love that the church has, and the purpose that God has for it. A place we can come together and worship in spirit and in truth. Strengthening the Christian and see the lost save Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
