Praise

November 16, 2008 Bro. Lonnie Francis

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised.. 2 Sa.22:4

David knew that it was the Lord that would deliver him from his enemies. As it was with David, so it is with you and I, we know where our help comes from, and that is from Lord.

We all have the same arch enemy, who is Satan. He takes on many different shapes and forms, but still operates with the same old lies and deception.

God is moved with His people’s devotion and praise. David was once criticized by his wife Michal as he praised the Lord for delivering the Ark of the Covenant back into their possession.

Praise and thanksgiving must be given a high priority in every Christian’s life. God is a jealous God, and He is also the One that gives us all good things. We must be diligent in praising God for all of our victories and spiritual gains.

We find time after time, God’s children full of praise. The Psalmist tells us to enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise, and if we would take his advice, then we would have a very successful spiritual life.

Man is to praise God in the good times and in the bad times. When Paul and Silas were ministering to the Phillippines, upon casting out a spirit of divination from a women that was used for gain, they were beaten and cast into the inner prison, with their feet fastened in stocks. As bad as the situation seemed, they could still pray and sing songs to God.

Those that Jesus healed during His ministry were quick to give Him praise. Jesus was praised upon His arrival into this world, and again at His departure. Not only was He praised by the Shepherds and the Angelic Host, but also by His Father, Who was well pleased with His Son.

" Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord " Ps. 150:6

"Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come" Rev. 4:8
