Faith If faith could be found in a capsule, stores would not be able to keep it on the shelf. Faith helps people overcome cancer, survive heart attacks, promotes healing of emotional scars, and can even deliver you from the common cold. Faith reminds us the unseen promises of God are as real as the house (body) in which we dwell. (I must be real because I'm writing this, and you must be real because you are reading this!) If faith were a pill what would the price tag be? Many modern miracle drugs cost hundreds of dollars for only a few pills, only treat one ailment, and have side effects causing more problems than you had to begin with. The cost of something as wonderful as faith would surely be outrageous. Entire life savings would be spent for a single dose. Fortunately we do not have to pay one red cent. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith is present when you hear a report AND believe it. Faith is present when you hear a report AND believe it. Faith is present when you hear a report AND believe it. No I'm not stuck, I'm trying to make a point. Paul begins the chapter in which our topic verse is found by telling the readers we KNOW that if this house (body) were dissolved there is a replacement body not earthly in nature awaiting us in Heaven. He then acknowledges there are burdens which will make us desire to hurriedly receive that Heavenly home, but that we should not be impatient or unwilling with the burdens of this world. We should in fact walk (live, behave) based on our faith of things to come not our knowledge of the situation at hand. It is easy to see faith can sustain us in this world below while guiding us to that home above. Most would be willing to pay a kings ransom for these benefits. All you have to do is believe.
