WHAT DOES GOD THINK OF YOUNG PEOPLE ?

God has a very high opinion of young people , and their potential . Satan would like the young person to believe they are not important or special . However , young people are very special to God . He loves them so much , and has a special place for them in His kingdom . Young people are a resource more valuable than silver or gold . Psalm 127: 3 says : " Lo children are an heritage of the Lord : and the fruit of the womb is his reward ." Each young life is a treasure to God . He made every life unique and special . " I will praise thee ; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made : ... " [ Psalm 139 : 14 ]

The Bible has a lot to say to the young person . In fact , God valued them so highly, He created a special handbook for them . It is called The Book Of Proverbs, and it is a school for the young person . It puts the first lesson on the board for the young person to read , proclaiming : " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: ..." [ Proverbs 1 : 7 ] You see , God wants the young person to serve Him so they can avoid the heartaches and pollution of sin that will stain their lives . God is not trying to take all the fun out of life . Jesus came to give us joy and peace ! God wants young people to have a good time . He said : " Rejoice , O young man , in thy youth ; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth , and walk in the ways of thine heart , and in the sight of thine eyes : but know that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment ." [ Ecclesiastes 1 : 9 ]

How wonderful it is to serve the Lord in your youth ! Ecclesiastes 12 : 1 says : " Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth , while the evil days come not , nor the years draw nigh , when thou shalt say , I have no pleasure in them ;" O how God wants the youth !

Lets look at some examples of people who had a tremendous impact for God when they were young . I believe Samuel was just a child when the Lord called to him , and gave him His message . He became a great man of God , but it all started when he was young . Josiah was just eight years old when he became king , and was used of God . The Bible mentions his mother , Jedidah . No doubt she brought him up to know God . I am so thankful my own mother brought me up to know the ways of God ! I believe Mary was just a teenager , when God gave her the awesome responsibility of being the mother of Jesus . He didn’t think she was too young . He chose her because she was faithful to her God , and He could trust her . God still wants to use young people today ! Please do not allow yourself to think you are too young to be used by God . Young person , God has a plan for your life . Jeremiah 29 : 11 says : " For I know the thoughts I think toward you , saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil , to give you an expected end ." No matter what people may say , remember God thinks you are so wonderful , and you are priceless to Him ! He never made any trash ! Please do not waste the opportunity to serve God while you are young . It is the best decision you can make !
