God's Way Is The Best Way July
16, 2006 Brother Adam Dotson You may have heard this story from yesteryear when you could order a house from
the Sears catalog. A man places his order, receives his house and begins to build. He drives the last nail and steps back to look
at his handy work. It’s a very nice house but rather small with one door and one window. The
man begins to rummage through the pile of left over material and finds a small book – the instruction book.
While reading the instructions he learns what all the left over material is for. He was supposed to have a much larger
house with many windows and doors. Most people have a love hate relationship with instructions.
We want to know how to do things but don’t want to take time to read how. If you’ve noticed most instruction booklets
now have more pictures than words. Maybe if God painted us some pictures we
would pay more attention to Him! Oh yeah---- he does make the most colorful sunrises
that are rivaled in beauty only by the sunsets that follow. Just think, He does this
every day without fail. He puts a blanket of green on the pastures and hillsides and
just so we don’t grow bored with this color, every fall He allows the leaf’s true color to shine through. He does so many
great things year after year, day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute. This same God gave wisdom to Solomon, strength to David, boldness to Paul, vision to John, salvation and instruction to all. In God’s word we can find solutions, comfort, guidance, and correction. But we must be willing to do two things with His words. One is read them, the other is accept them: Good is good, and sin is sin. Like the man who found out his house could have been so much better, you will find life is much better following His instructions. God's Way Is The Best Way |
