GOD’S PURPOSE

07/15/07 Brother Darrell Wellman

" And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God , to them who are the called according to his purpose ." [ Romans 8 : 28 ] What a wonderful scripture inspired by the sweet Holy Spirit . This scripture has handles ! If you take a hold of it , you can be carried through the darkest of times . It will lift you out of the pit of depression and doubt .

I treasure Jeremiah 29 : 11 which says : " For I know the thoughts that I think toward you , saith the Lord , thoughts of peace , and not of evil , to give you an expected end ." Jesus has an important purpose for your life . He had plans for you before you were even born ! Jesus does not want you to be obsessed with your circumstances . He wants you to be focused on Him and His sweet guiding hand . Even in the most difficult and perplexing situations Jesus can bring out good things . Don’t let doubt and discouragement get a hold on your life . Be like the writer who said : " I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills , from whence cometh my help . My help cometh from the Lord , which made heaven and earth ." [ Psalm 121 : 1-2 ]

God has a purpose for things He allows in our lives . He’ll allow Christians to be tested so they can grow stronger in their walk . Dear Christian God has an important purpose for the course of your life . We can’t begin to comprehend His ways . God said : " ...my thoughts are not your thoughts , neither are your ways my ways ..."[ Isaiah 55 :8 ] Jesus knows what is best for His dear children , and we must trust in His purpose . If you do not know Jesus , you can find real purpose in your life through Him . Romans 10 : 9 says : " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus , and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead , thou shalt be saved . " If you do this you will have fulfilled God’s purpose for your salvation !
