Mistakes

January 29, 2006 Brother Lonnie Francis

Great God Jehovah, the Creator of the universe, will never have to say: Oh! I am sorry, I have made a mistake. Right from the beginning our Lord and Savior, did it right, and proclaimed it good, and very good.

Unlike God, man lives a life filled with faults and failures, which when given to the Lord, can become great learning tools.

One of the hardest things that confronts man is, to admit that he has failed at any given task. Many of our inventions came only after many failures. We will use every excuse, trying to shift the blame, but when we falter, God puts the blame back on us. The flesh is weak, but the spirit is strong.

God is perfect in His whole being, He is perfect in power and wisdom. His love and compassion are full of perfection. God wrote the book on perfection..

God’s advice and instructions are always best, and we can rest a sured, that He has our welfare and future in mind. God warns man: if he attempts to cover his sins he will not prosper. It is best to admit our faults and failures and try not to repeat them. We must also remember that in our flesh dwells no good thing. The flesh will always be prone to failure, therefore have no confidence in the flesh.

No wonder Paul would say: "let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." this can only be accomplished by walking in the spirit of God.

Paul was highly educated in worldly ways, and held a prominent position on the Sanhedrin court, but stated the wisest decision that he ever made, was to put away all these things, and count them as refuse, that he may win Christ. Jesus ask the question: "If a man gained the whole world and lost his soul, what would he give in exchange?"

If we set our sights on heaven, we will not be disappointed, but the world and all of it’s elements will be consumed with fire.

God’s word tells us to strive for perfection, and one day we will reach it, if we are not weary in well doing, and faint not. One day all the Saints of God will awake in His likeness, and being like Him, we will have reached the highest plane of perfection.

The biggest mistake made by man today is the attempt to fulfill the lust of the flesh, which cannot be satisfied.

Feed the spirit and starve the flesh. It will pay off in the long haul.

We can all be winners through Christ Jesus.
