WHAT DOES JESUS WANT FOR CHRISTMAS?

Do people frequently ask you what you want for Christmas ? It is easy to get so focused on what we plan to get and what we plan to receive , that we forget all about Jesus . Have you ever thought about what Jesus wants for Christmas? After all it’s His birthday we should celebrate.

The angels brought their gifts long ago . They sent an early Christmas card ! God’s hosts offered sweet praises after the announcement of Jesus’ birth , proclaiming : " Glory to God in the highest , and on earth peace , good will toward men ." [ Luke 2 : 14 ] I believe every angel of God rejoiced at the birth of Christ , and offered awesome praises to the name of Jesus !

The shepherds , who received the heavenly birth announcement , honored Christ with their presence , and spread the wonderful news of His birth . They did not bring Jesus expensive presents , but they gave special gifts . They gave the wonderful gift of service , and were special ambassadors of His birth !

The wise men came to offer gifts to the king . They said : " ...Where is he that is born King of the Jews ? For we have seen his star in the east , and are come to worship him." [ Matthew 2 :2 ] No doubt their hearts were filled with joy just to be in the presence of the king , and they offered Him their sincere worship ! They gave Him gold , which was appropriate because He was God in the flesh , Heaven’s king ! They also gave Him myrrh and frankincense .

Although they brought Jesus very wonderful gifts , I believe that they realized that Jesus was the greatest gift of all !

Great gifts have been offered to Jesus , and each one was very special ! What does Jesus want you to give Him for Christmas ? We can give nice gifts to one another , and there is nothing wrong with that , but remember it is Jesus birthday we should honor . Are you going to give Jesus anything for Christmas ? You may feel that you do not have anything special enough to give Him . However , there’s something more valuable to Jesus than gold , silver , or precious jewels , that only you can give Him ! If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus , He so wants you to give Him your heart ! You are far more important to Him than material things ! He longs to walk with you , and be your special friend ! In fact there is no way you can grasp just how special and loved you are to Jesus . Jesus already gave His Christmas present , for He gave His life for you . Romans 10 : 9 says : " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus , and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead , thou shalt be saved ."

If you give yourself to Jesus , you will find that He has so much to give you ! If you already know Jesus , and you want to give Him a present , be determined that if the Lord allows you to live , you’ll be willing to give Him more of yourself in the coming year ! I know that is the present I want to give Him ! You see , Jesus wants your heart for Christmas !
