NEW YEAR BLESSINGS

The end of the year is a good time to reflect and give God thanks for the blessings of the previous year . If we have our health , we have been blessed by God . Loving family and faithful friends are also great blessings from God . However , if you can say that you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour , you really have been blessed ! Jesus said : " The thief cometh not , but for to steal , and to kill , and to destroy : I am come that they might have life , and that they might have it more abundantly ." [ John 10 : 10 ] Jesus wants us to have a joyful life . Even when hard times come our way , we can still find comfort and peace in knowing Jesus Christ . Nehemiah said " ...the joy of the Lord is your strength . " [ Nehemiah 8 : 10 ] Being filled with Christ’s joy is a great way to end the old year and start a new one !

Christians should look at the new year as an opportunity to be more for Christ . They should never be content with where they are spiritually . As the writer said : " Brethren , I count not myself to have apprehended : but this one thing I do , forgetting those things which are behind , and reaching forth unto those things which are before , I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus " [ Philippians 3 : 13-14 ] We need to passionately strive for Heaven’s goal , as the writer beautifully illustrated . Never allow the past to hinder your future . A new year is a blessing from God , in which we can renew our commitment to Christ , and really strive to do more for Him . I want everything He wants to give me ! I know I have to do my part , however , if I want to receive all He has for me . I have to be faithful and true to Jesus ! Don’t you want to receive new year blessings from God ?
